It Always Happins in Threes 11/22/2008

1. Minding my own business at the park today, a bee flew into my arm and stung me. The second time in two weeks. What the hell?????

2. Stella officially has the biggest lamp in the history of time. "Retro schmetzo my ass." In an earthquake that thing could either flatten my Pipsqueak, could be used to store vodka or is really solid gold cleverly hidden in a mobile home park. (Or it's a genie's lamp, proof that when Stella has a few martinis in her she's not shy about rubbing stuff.)

3. All members of current household, save for me, are sleeping. It's 6PM. When they wake at 6:30 (by either me, the alarm, or the prize patrol handing out cash prizes to the luckiest mama on the block) we are going for dinner with friends. No cooking! I'm so lucky! Except for the bee sting.

That's some lamp....maybe she's got her life savings in there. My Grams used to keep her cash in the freezer in milk cartons. Seriously. And yes, I am preparing for the day when I, like all other women in my family, am crazy as a loon. It's a family thing =)

Sorry 'bout the bee sting!!!! But hooray for not having to cook! That Rocks!!

My grum keeps everything for "nice" when she's taken to the "home". Seriously. "What do you think of that new nightgown...perfume...quilt...pair of shoes...banana...?"

"Oh, it's/they're lovely Honey. I'm saving them."

Why? she's 82. I mean, I know why. But really, why?

Please don't take this as an insult, it's just that our tastes are different. But.

That lamp is hideous.

Then again, I'm sure the same could be said for my coffee/end tables that were a $30 garage sale special that are circa 1976.

Gretchen - Is that your mom's mom?

Deb - That's a good idea about storing money in the lamp!

Heidi - It's not my style lamp at all either - no offense taken. But I love that Stella loves it. it's like her - unique, bold and full of flower power.

Travis - You crack me up.

You need to stop slathering yourself in honey! I love Stella's style. It reminds me of my grandmother's house, but without the smells of matzo ball soup!

That lamp is pretty snazzy.

Hope you had a great dinner!

What IS up with the bees?? That sounds awful.
