Stella Says Don't Spring a Leak! 10/14/2008

This is Andrea speaking. Before ya'll start bombarding the old lady with a million requests, let me be clear: Stella sends me her posts in word, and then I cut and paste them into Weebly. I figure if this doesn't get me my angel wings and a martini when I see her in heaven - hopefully not for many many years, I don't know what will.

Rather than just cut and paste her portion of the blog, I thought I'd also send you the pre-blog portion - just to clue you in on the fabulous wonder that is my grandmother, Stella. Um... my grandmother-in-law. I know she loves me, but she'll tell you herself that my cooking isn't great and my house is never clean enough. I think she's relieved that someone with such a loud mouth is not actually blood. (After all, I would be in direct competition with her.)

Here's her email to me:

"Make upa you mind!   You just phoned and gave me a different subject: "The top 10 things I learned in life" -- so that's what I'm sending now....and edit or chuck any or all of it, as you wish."

The quotes...the quotes... you'll see Stella is all about the quotes. And now, I give you, Stella Says for the week. Ask her whatever you want. Just don't ask her about my domestic skills. You just might get an answer I'd have to kill you for.

Stella Says About Happiness in Life

"Well, I gotta tell ya .... the "top 10 things I learned in life" early on, were.......     First off....when you've dropped them "Pampers" for the very last time , you've hit the Big Time!    So now -- get with the program!

I've always been rather 'poor' at math, so......the remaining     "9" would be......  "live", "love (lots of THIS!)" and  lastly, "be a bit "unhappy" at times -- it keeps the     blood flowing and color in your cheeks! "

I'm no Dr. Gott-cha, but you get my message.....     In short -- do "whatever floats your boat" but try not to spring too many leaks along on the way!"

(Um, Stella, that was like, three things, not 10, but we love you and your strong martinis.)

* Photo taken before our Vegas road trip last year. Does it bother me that an 87 year old got more attention than I did? Damn straight!

i'm with ya here. and i'm a loud mouthed, very straight forward, formerly lived in a trailer, mama who loves martinis. chocolate ones especially. :) she said we'd get along great. except my house is never clean enough,either. :)

Oh -- and as to my martinis -- I've been told they can take the curl (and color) right outa your hair , so I generally stay with "one" ! (at a time, that is......)

Oh Stella, you're great! I'm not a martini gal but I do like my gin and tonic (not too much tonic though - you don't want to drown the gin).
